I&#039;m on day 6 of not smoking and day 13  of an exercise program and your posts have mirrored a lot of the same thoughts that have crossed my mind in the last couple weeks. I can&#039;t wait to run now, can&#039;t wait to work out, can wait to wake up tomorrow morning with 7 smoke free days under my belt. It can be done people. just 3 weeks ago I was living the life of a rockstar drinking nearly every night, chain smoking, and getting fatter by the month. That life was fun, but this life is way better, and I&#039;ve only been in it for 2 weeks vs 8 years of the hard partying.</description>

		<description>It all sounds good, but I&#039;d like to ask Leo and others to try getting away from the mindset of &quot;easy and cheap&quot; when referring people to things such as &quot;rewards&quot; for sticking to a regimen.  I&#039;m talking about NOT giving free plugs to Amazon or Itunes, when there&#039;s likely a local book or music store that could really use your business and support. Talking about unique sites and programs like traneo and cardiocoach is different, because you&#039;re not likely to find those locally. But remember, if you&#039;re not looking for anything specific and just shop on the &#039;net because it&#039;s easy, you&#039;re supporting huge global entities and your local sources may go out of business as a result.  Think Globally, Shop Locally is the way to go!</description>

		<description>Good advice. Exercise a little, eat more carefully, drink more carefully, don&#039;t smoke, get enough rest, listen to your body. Gradually increase your exercise, mix it up, jog, swim, bike, skimachine or stepper. Watch the fatty, fried food, the sugary stuff sweets, cakes etc. Try drinking only at weekends. See how you feel in the morning. Check your pulse. If it is up from normal have an easy day.
If you have a muscle pain, put ice on it or Difflam cream. If it is a sharp pain, don&#039;t exercise. 

Steady progress gets you there. I broke my kneecap in a swimming baths accident. I walked 50 steps, jogged 50 for a week. Then 70. Then 2 mins etc Ten months later I ran a marathon in 3 hrs 30. Steady does it.</description>

When exercising or even startinig a program you must formulate in your mind exactly what it is you want to do and what it is you want to realize.
I am near 80 and exercise with both weights and a Marcy exercise machine and if I miss a workout I start immediately back into the pre-established regimen.
I do a treadmill exercise that varies in time according to how energetic I feel; without letting mental excuses take control.
I do situps with a seat bending machine that may vary from 50 to almost 100, twice per workout.
I do a full Marcy utilization every day with a 7th day of rest. I do uppers one day and lowers the next day. 
I am both physically and mentally alert and I attribute that to both the exercise regimen and a proper intake of vitamins and minerals.
The basic requirement is discipline, discipline and discipline!  Plus, always try to maintain a positive attitude!</description>
