These are cool ideas. I follow some of these myself. An additional thing is not to buy soda in the nearby store; if you want to, do so in a supermarket (Safeway, etc.). I agree that newspapers suck. I really don't prefer reading the news anyway; if you have internet access then newspapers are a waste.

As far as going out is concerned, you could always save a bit of money and do it at someone's house; trust me, you can at least as much fun, maybe even more via this routine. But you DO need to go out - no way 'round that!

These tips would never work for a young person. But when you add all the savings up together, it sure is a nice sum of money. You can take that money and go on a really nice vacation, but then that would contradict everything you just did, so I guess you would use that money to put towards the mortgage or some type of investment.

I agree with quitting smoking and all the other stuff you used to do but if I were to go through with wost of the stuff you recommended life would be meaningless especially if I am not actively involved in church to keep me busy and focused.

[...] Look at discretionary spending. If you can’t find $100-200 to save per paycheck, then you need to cut some things from your spending. This is where tracking your spending comes in handy, but even if you don’t, you know some of the extras you spend on — cigarettes, coffee, snacks, candy, desserts, eating out, magazines, shopping for clothes or gadgets or toys or shoes, books, going out … these are just a few of the examples. I’m not saying you need to cut everything out, but if you can cut a few of them, or maybe just one at a time, that can add up. Then, take the money you didn’t spend on those discretionary items, and put that amount into savings each payday. Increase this over time. (See How I Save Money.) [...]

Regarding tips number 3 & 9: a little disingenous, no? Being vegan is an ethical choice, but it's certainly not a frugal choice: pork and chicken cost far, far less than soy burgers or tofu. Nor is it necessarily a healthy choice: I personally know two vegans, out of only about ten that I have met, whose kidneys are destroyed from all the soy protein.
Be vegan if it strikes you as the right thing to do, but be honest about it.

I like to find online services like coupons and referral codes to save money. I have found a few that are legit and they really do help me and my family.

I find a lot of people are leary of these because they think "Free" sites must have a hidden catch. And yes there are some bads ones out there, but the ones I use are safe.
The reason they are free is that they are just basically advertising sites. They get paid by the retailers to bring in customers and move product.

I didn't want you to think I am a spammer so if you want to know which companies I use let me know and I'll post them.
