Thanks for the reminder to do a little cleaning out, I just took a couple cards out of my wallet and off my keyring. Now my ring only has one key and one mini grocery store card. I like my wallet though. It's my first one, it's extremely slim, and it's working out very well.

I like your tips.. but I have conflicting fetishes. >_<;; Minimalist vs. always-preparedist... It's really kind of fun to try and balance them. That's actually become a bigger hobby than either of them on their own. XD;;

I like what Deborah suggested about no labels on the mundane items we have to see daily. Easier visually to see the colors of the contents than a lot of words and colors on the packaging! But how to you know what is what without labels? Maybe label the bottom of the container?

I think this ties in with the no icons on the desktop suggestion from Leo. Less to look at!

I'm very sensitive to visual clutter and perhaps have some audio sensory issues as well since I really don't like noise in the background and hate when the radio and TV are on and people are talking! So for those of us that like "the sound of silence" it could work to say no to Ipods, TV, icons, etc.

But I DO see the practicality of using an Ipod, cell phone, online storage, etc. as ways to free a person from visual clutter from CDS/DVDS/paper files and such...now if I could only get over my mental laziness when it comes to switching over to new technology:)

We have never had cable TV in our 16 years of marriage. Our kids get teased a little, but their comment is "look at my grades in school compared to yours". Just the TV being on was such a distraction, we put our TV (which is 15 years old by the way) downstairs in the family room away from the main gathering space. Our kids don't even miss it. Their ages are 16, 11, & 8. We talk more and "hear" each other more.
