According to me, it's not bad thing to have sponsors onto your website. You did the right thing by making it clear to Vitalist that they didn’t ask for a putting up a review or paid links within the content of your website. Vitalist is a organizational tools and it would be helpful for website visitors. So keep searching the useful sponsors.

@John: Lifehacker had an article today about Notely, which is supposed to be an integrated task/calendar/notetaking app aimed at students. More site suggestions in the comments.

Leo, of course it's no problem to have an ad like Vitalist on your site. I hope it will bring in some $ for you.

Personally I'm pretty disappointed in Vitalist right now. After a long search for the right software I thought I was done when I found Vitalist. Of course I loaded in all my data and started using it for my task lists. And now I find that within a month I must either find a new tool and migrate all my data or start paying $5 a month for Vitalist's service that was previously free. I guess you get what you pay for. :)

Thanks for mentioning other tools in your recent articles. I may take a closer look at Tracks, Tasktoy or Toodledo. The one nice thing about Vitalist is they provided support for subprojects. I don't know of any other free GTD apps that do that unless they are Mac only.

Thanks again for all the great info on your site, Leo.

I'm glad to see you're making some money from this site and I'm sure most people will have no objection to the ads as long as editorial stays independent. Your blog has given a lot to us, and you deserve the success.

Right now I'm trying out MyLife Organized. It's seems ok so far, or even quite good I'd say. It's an offline app, fitting nicely on my trusty usb-stick, so I can take it with me wherever I go.

Thanks, John. As for which GTD app is my favorite ... that's a tough call. Each one has its strengths. Vitalist would certainly be on my short list, but my needs and preferences might be different than anyone else's. I would suggest just giving the different tools a quick try, see which one seems most comfortable for you and best for your particular situation (how many computers do you use? how often are you on the go? what other devices do you use?). I couldn't make recommendations for each person, nor would I want to.

Bottom line: pick a tool that works and stick with it. Then move on to the doing! :)

I tried Vitalist this afternoon after reading your post. It's not bad.

However, there are so many GTD web applications available. Which is your favorite? Or which do you use most? I'm getting ready to head back to school and I'm in need of some organizational tools.

Also, with all the helpful tips you provide every week, a simple advertisement is fine, especially one that is relevant to the site. I'm sure the other readers will approve as well.
