This article really seems to bring my self-esteem up. I've been one of the people who have always been bullied, and because of that, i worked and trained and did everything to be better than them. Then i realized that even if i am better than them, whats the point? I won't be seeing them anymore after high school is finished. I think i would really bring this message up in my head.

Well-said, Leo.

One should try taking criticism optimistically and it does act as a catalyst at times. It takes a little patience while dealing with the negative feedback and everything goes well then.

I enjoyed reading the article.

So long!

Long time follower of your site yet normally silent. I thought this post was one of the best articles I've read in awhile on any of the blogs I follow. As someone else commented - your more recent work has been more engaging, keep up the great work!

This post comes just in perfect timing.
Thanks for the post, I really needed this to reflect on a few habits I have when dealing with criticism.

For example at work, I tend to defend my point, my article or whatever very stubborn, instead I could just use the criticism to see if I can make things better.

Another perfect example is when it comes to housework like cleaning. My girlfriend sometimes watches me when I do the dishes or clean the kitchen (I'm in charge of that, if you must know) and sometimes she says "Thanks for doing the dishes, but look here! If you do it that way or this way, it's cleaner and you'll save time!"
In the first few seconds, I hate that, because I feel like I can't do anything good enough. Your post however shows me that I need to cool down, see the positive message in the criticism and try to do better. Damn, my girlfriend is mostly right, and she loves it ;)

Good stuff. People have the right to say what they feel and the better we are at accepting it the more open to communication our world will be.

Thank you very much for this post. This is is really cool...English is not my primary language and I am in writing business (funny isn't it? ). I was doing fine until few days back I got complaints of number of grammar mistakes including punctuations in my work. Any suggestion what to do while I am doing the work on regular basis? I can not go back to school now :) so its getting on my nerves these days.
