50 Ways to Help the Environment Today; plus, Blog Action Day in 5 Days!

You might remember that I wrote a little while ago about Blog Action Day, an initiative I’m a part of that is bringing thousands of blogs (huge ones and little ones) together for one day, to talk about one issue. This year, the issue is the Environment, and Blog Action Day is coming up soon — October 15.

On that day, all the blogs that have signed up will do a post talking about the environment. They can write about anything they want related to the environment — there’s no restrictions.

If you haven’t signed up yet, go do so now! It’ll be a lot of fun, and we’ll be demonstrating the power of bloggers. If you’ve already signed up now, don’t forget to post on October 15!

I am currently running a month-long blogging campaign on environment-related matters at The Giving Hands (http://thegivinghands.org), which had begun on Sept 15th, and will conclude on Oct 15th in conjunction with Blog Action Day. Thank you for this story! I just signed up for the blog action day even my blog exists since only two day. It’s a kind of journal (in German) about how I stop smoking (http://zigisade.blogspot.com) and I think that there are many relations between smoking and environmental issues. Check it out!

I also try to be as environmentally as conscious, trying to make lifestyle changes, encouraging others to do the same. Seems tho that people perceive it oftentimes as more sacrifice and too difficult to maintain. But isn’t life about sacrifices sometimes? Or have we become too hedonistic in the west, instead choosing to burn ourselves out climbing the ladder to success only to find out that the only growth that’s lift is start ditching all of it.
