I've never seen a natural hair brush, rug, etc. that did not shed hair. This shedding is seldom significant enough to worry about though.

Double edge razor can change your life. This is very true because once a time you used it you never ever can use other razor. With double edge razor you can get perfect shave and grace on your face.

Thanks for the article. I wish I had "discovered" wet shaving along time ago. All these years of neck irritation could have been avoided.
Thanks.

Thanks for your kind comments on the book.

Regarding the Rooney's shedding: no, this is definitely not normal. I suggest that you email the vendor about returning it for replacement.

Michael- Just a quick note to tell you I got your book and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I have picked up some great tips and methods with it. I was telling a friend about it and I believe he has since placed an order for one. Since we talked last time I have accumulated some Tabac Soap and aftershave 3 Slim adjustables, one super speed, and one lady long handle gillette (gold stars). I also have a 26 mm shavemac silvertip with long handle on order from Jim along with some of his triple milled soap. I have really enjoyed using my Rooney 2/1 however I noticed that lately I am losing about 5-6 hairs per shave. Is this normal for this brush? Or is this something I should be concerned about. I shampooed it and combed it with a large comb as Jim suggested but I am still having problems with it shedding somewhat. I was wondering if you have had the same experience and that this is normal and it goes away with time. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks Travis

The Feathers are great for some, unusable for others. One experienced shaver, who certainly knows how to shave, just can't use them: with his skin, razor, technique, beard, and water, the Feathers just are too harsh. Yet others love them. That's an example of why you have to trust your own judgment and experience.

Still, in the early days of mastering your skills, stick for a while with one brand of blade. The Treets that are working for you are fine: use only those for a month or two, and then begin your exploration.

Enjoy. And I'm delighted that you like the Rooney Style 2. Certainly it's my own favorite brush.

Michael- Thanks for the recommendation of the Rooney super bader style 2 size 1. This is my new favorite brush. I can't believe how soft and densely packed it is. I am glad I did not go with something bigger, it is just right. The Castle Forbes cream is now one of my favorites as well. Jim was such a pleasure to deal with and my order came right away. I also recieved my sampler pack #5 from Giovani. His came right away as well and he even threw in some free blades. I tried the Feathers yesterday but I think I will need more practice as I think I was a little heavy handed as my face suffered a lot of razor burn. I tried the Treets that come in the blue package today (I think they are the stainless ones) and they are my favorite to date. Very nice shave no irritation. I did however pick up a used Gillette 3 piece razor marked G2. It comes apart at the handle top. I thoroughly washed it with sanitizing wipes, I then used some ultrasonic cleaning solution and a brush and scrubbed it all down, then I finished it off by boiling it in water for 5 minutes. I am just a little bit of a hypochondriac, can't you tell. I have to be honest part of me was worried I might have gotten some razor dating back to the 1920's and have some type of super flu bug on it. Just call me crazy. Anyways after cleaning it all up I put in the Treets and gave it a try. I really liked it. It is very similiar to my Merkur HD except it is a little lighter adn the head unscrews from the handle at the top instead of at the bottom. It is probably Gillette's most produced model but I really liked how it shaved. So I don't know if it was the razor or blade or a combination of both. I guess I will find out the next time I shave with my Merkur. Well enough of my rambling. Thanks again, all of my order has arrived except for your book which I can't wait to start reading.
