If only I lived alone, my house would be clean. I've given battling against the tide of displaced items, clutter and dirt my family seems to enjoy (kidding). I just can't do it any more. I love a clean home. I grew up with a bee of a mother and I learned to clean as I go. Best habit my mother ever instilled in me. I can cook a full course meal and have every pan clean before people sit down to eat. It's all in the timing. And I can do it without frustration, it's just part of my nature, who I am. But keeping the house clean while living with good but overtly messy people????? Like shoveling into wind, like holding back the tide. . . I swear I make a clean spot and my family sees a spot in need of use. Doesn't help we bought a house 15+ yrs ago which needed/needs work because my husband knows how to do the work needed to be done, yet doesn't know how to finish a job. And asking him to finish is considered me nagging, etc. So I've learned to focus on things other then a neat house to bring me contentment because at one point I was such a mess and such a bee myself that it was destroying me and my family. Now I find myself able to say "I love a clean house, but my husband prefers it messy. He says it's more comfortable that way. What's a wife to do?" (lol)

I like the article on minimalism in housework. I have a more global approach and yet, as I battle procrastination, I hope to complete some of it on my blog tonight.
