I remember having this problem. Whenever I would read my friends' blogs (or facebook), I would always feel like they were having more fun than I was and then I'd feel all depressed that my life wasn't as great. However, I did notice I was doing this and so stopped reading my friends' blogs. As a result, though, I'm not very up to date on what's going on in their lives.

Hey, I found this post very helpful. Lately I've been asking myself if I had my own identity or if I've been tying it to others all the time. Thus, causing the downward spiral of my self-esteem. Thanks for the post!

Great post, i found it whilst googling. I find its even more easy to do this on the internet since you can get a vague impression of people so much easier than in real life, or keep 'up to date' with what they are doing.

I'm going to keep this is my favourites, very well written.

This is actually my first time doing this but your article just was amazing and hit right at home with me. I am 24 year old single lady who lives with her parents and makes $8.50 for a living. Lately I have been comparing myself to my friends and associates education, careers, finance, possesions and love life. After reading this article I realized that I was'nt recogonizing my own individual attributes and strenghts and to appreciate what I do have.

I just recently enrolled in college to finish my degree that I always wanted to get. Thanks!
