One easy way to put yourself off eating processed foods is to go and work in a frozen "TV dinners" factory for a shift or two. They are incredibly hygienic, which is reassuring, but the food looks so totally unappetising in those places it's almost untrue - massive trays of vegetables, chopped, cooked, frozen, and then being doled out in set portion sizes onto the carefully weighed out portions of meat, prior to the whole thing going underneath an auto-sensing sauce dolloping tube that 'sputs' the sauce on top with that sound school dinner ladies everywhere practice so hard to achieve.

Personally, I enjoy cooking, and I love eating good food. I often cook large batches of things and freeze them in single serve re-usable tubs - few things beat being able to serve up a great chilli in minutes on a lazy evening!

I'm also very lucky in that I live in Melbourne, Australia, where we have fantastic markets (four 'normal' food markets within cycling distance of my house with literally hundreds of stalls stocking fruit, veg, nuts, grains, meat, fish and all the deli items you could want, from olives to octopus via so many good cheeses, and farmers' markets every weekend too where the stallholders actually grew the food they're selling), and a culture of eating well and diversely. We still have fast food places, and a couple of supermarket chains with the processed stuff, but our local supermarket is laid out in such a way that I only use half the aisles - very convenient!

One way of getting into eating more healthily at home is to pick a cuisine that interests you, get a good cookbook, and 'treat' yourself to a recipe from it each week - you get good food, learn some new tricks, and it'll impress your friends once you feel ready to cook for them...
