After reflecting on this article for the last 4 days I am coming to the conclusion that what I thought was my "passionate dream" was really "something cool to do." I am at a point where I feel like I am mourning a loss but also confused on how to determine what my passion really is. I mean, I enjoy lots of things and some things REALLY get me going but I can't actulally say I am passionate about them. Any pointers?

Leo,

I achieved a HUGE dream this week. I was able to put in my 2 week's notice a few days ago, due to the success of my blog.

My little fitness blog has blossomed into something pretty big. Reading your story really inspired me to aim high and shoot for the moon. I built my site to a full-time income while working a 55 hour per week job. It took me close to two years of sleep deprivation to get it done, but I made it!

On March 6th I walk out of my work-place a free man.

Life is good!

Thanks, Leo, for the post. Your comments on passion and enjoying the journey are great! Your reader's question reminds me of the importance of believing in the dream. If something (a venture, a concept, an idea, a desire) is calling you, there's a reason, a need, and probably a gift for you in pursuing the endeavor. Our dreams are life possibilities calling us.

@Vincent:
> all they need is to first have the commitment to
> achieve it.

As mentioned in the comment from Klaus | daisho-blacksmith.com:
Giving your dream appropriate priority (which IMHO is equal to have the appropriate commitment if you take your priority list for serious) is one thing, but there is a price to pay! - Maybe it's sleep, maybe it's time you relaxed in front of the TV before. Maybe you also did other things that are not worth doing any more with your new view to new goals. But there might be several other commitments which are important to you.

BTW: @Harry (GoalsOnTrack):
> Find 5 or 10 minutes each day to work on your goals,
> consistently

I can't imagine many important goal/commitment/priority which really can be done in such small pieces. 5-10 Minutes is usually the time I need for "startup" and "shutdown" for any important action.

I think this post is a wake-up call for people who wasting a lot of time with unimportant tasks.

For all those people who already optimized their life a lot, an important missing part in this post is how to find out, which other priorities/commitments to drop for the sake of your dream and if your dream is really worth it.
