This is a wonderful post. We must have silence and be quiet to hear before our God. To relax and give stress a rest. We should all make time to step out of our crazy electrified world now and again. Isobella

Hi Leo, This article should be translated to Japanese, printed out and distributed in Japan! Life there is crazy chaotic, people working like there's no tomorrow. I hope they get to read this.

Wait, before that, I wish my husband can read and understand this!

I live on the Upper West Side of New York, and finding some time to pull over, chill out and just BE is important to my sanity. Everything and everyone moves around so quickly. If you're constantly in the stream with them, you miss so much.

One of my favorite things to do in NYC is plop down on a bench, be still and observe. I let the frenetic madness swarm all around me and just WATCH it. Today (gorgeously sunny) I sat on a bench in the garden median on Broadway at 68th Street. I lit up a cigar my wife had given me (verboten indoors!), and enjoyed my smoke, cars cruising Broadway on each side of me, pedestrians crossing back and forth in front.

New York can pull you into its crazy orbit very easily, but stepping aside and observing it calms you down, giving you a different perspective and genuine appreciation. It's like watching all the folks on the roller coaster from the line before you get on it yourself.

An important piece of advice that too many of us forget to take advantage of. Sit back, relax, take in a deep breath, in the warm sun and enjoy.

No one knows how many moments like that we'll have, so make the time to have more of them.

Thank you for the reminder Leo.

Leo,

Loved your post and response.

In terms of driving traffic to my blog, I'm working on the great content. Can I be a guest blogger on Zen Habits too?
