I have a question. I have a dream of creating an organization to spread awareness about poverty in the world. I'm planning on creating a club at my university when I start college next semester. But, when I told me friend about it, she said that they already have a lot of clubs like that. Then, I started thinking that there are tons of groups and organizations like the one I'm planning. But I have some ideas that are different, so maybe I should try to start my own club. So, now I don't know what to do. Do I just join another club or follow my dream and try to create my own?

[...] The Number One Dream Killer: Doing What Works (from Zen Habits). The subtitle kind of gives away the “punch line” for this one. In this post, guest author Jonathan Mead argues that what really kills our dreams isn’t that we do what doesn’t work… it’s that we do what does work. Why I pulled it out is that this is an article about comfort zones — and, more specifically, about how staying with “what you know” (and with “what works”) doesn’t really get you anywhere. The take-away message is that if you want to actually live your dreams, you’re going to have to step out of what you know works, and take a chance on something that may not. [...]

"We must drop conventional wisdom (collective assumption) and break away from the herd."

Fantastic post! This post describes and answers the hesitations that everyone faces when working to make positive changes (the kind that create an impact) in life.

I wish I'd written this myself. Can't wait to read the book!
