Having read every day of my life, I went through quite a lengthy period years ago where I was unable to read -- I think related to brain chemistry changes when I quit smoking. What a pleasure to be back to full speed. I love paper versions, e-versions and audio versions. I just finished listening to Pema Chodron's Bodhisattva Mind -- a very meaningful and approachable teaching I would highly recommend. All of Pema Chodron's work is powerful. I'm re-reading Silent Spring by Rachel Carson which is as appropriate today as it was when originally published. What a visionary and passionate activist!

Robertson Davies and Margaret Atwood are two outstanding Canadian authors.

I read fiction on occasion and shall look for some of your recommendations Leo.

One of my favourite book sources is www.bookmooch.com. This mail exchange of books is a brilliant way to pass on and receive the joy of the written word!

Oh, the Watermelon and Olivia Joules are both wonderful. Currently reading This Charming Man by Keyes and its not the least bit dissapointing. I have also loved One Hit Wonder by Lisa Jewell, and my all time favourite are Adrian Mole Diaries, in particular the Cappuccino Years. How well crafted, sometimes I wish Adrian was a real character. Also loved The Perks of How Not to be a Wallflower.

Lame and boring authors, try some real literature, like Aleksandar Hemon, Carlos Fuentes or Haruki Murakami.

It's a good list. After reading it, it would be nice to share it with your community and make discussion to enhance the essence on deeper meanings.

Thanks for sharing Leo... Dave Ramsey (obviously I'm a fan of his work) has said a lot recently that in 5 years you will be the same person you are today except for the books you read and the people you meet.

I think that is very true!

Borrowing from that idea... how else to get to know someone better than to hear about what they are reading and how they are responding to it.

Without question, I've added to my reading list as a result of reading your post!

Hey, between books and online research, I invite you to read a little of my work! I'd love your seasoned opinions!

Yeah, that was shameless...

Keep up the great work!
