I find that timing is very important for reducing stress. I find that when we are rushing we get the timing wrong with interactions with other people and can end up isolating ourselves emotionally by alienating others. It is a lack of respect for the other to not wait for the right moment. I like the reminders to leave spaces between doing things and to wait for the timing of the universe, to allow the universe to unfold as it should. The universe wants to include us in it - we will have our moment too.

Leo, my troubles and struggles in the last weeks have led me to your blog. I knew about it for a long time, but right now I feel it's exactly what I need to be reading. I have done great progress in pretty much all the areas of my life and still, I barely enjoyed any of it lately. The last weeks have been mostly stressing about exams. I even neglected practicing Tai Chi and feel a bit rusty, and all for nothing, since all the things I was stressing about turned out well as they always do.
I can understand why this kind of advice (to do less) seems unrealistic to many people, but for me, it seems the only sane (and viable choice). This is maybe the one thing I need to shift the balance again (and decisively) towards the positive attitude I became accustomed to but which was slipping away slowly without my knowing.

These are great tips for being mindful and present. I understand that being present in each moment is one of the best things you can do for yourself, and wrote a book that teaches people how to do this so that they can squeeze the most juice they can get out of life.
