Nice, Jonathan you've raised some interesting points. Thanks for the post. But I fear one needs to get their priorities right first.

What a relief... to not care too much on those minor things.
Too much caring is like having the house full of clutter.
Great article!

As I sit here finishing up checking my email for the 100th time today, simply because I am so worried about taking the best possible care of my clients....I was able to break away and find this post. This really resignated with me and I have known for a while that life would be more fulfilling if I stopped worrying so much about others and started focusing on ME! Thank you for making this even more evident- I think I'll go do something fun now!

Interesting and thought provoking post. I think this is something that you have to attend to every minute of every day. It's like being a recovering alcoholic. You're never truly able to just forget the fact that you're an alcoholic. In terms of letting go and focusing on the important aspects of our lives, we have to constantly ask ourselves "Is this important, or should I be doing something else that's more valuable and will lead to greater freedom, greater happiness, down the road?" and then we must also look at the total picture of our lives. If I cook dinner tonight and give my wife a break, will that lead to greater happiness, even though I have four other things I need to do this evening? Yes! Because giving your partner a break is so important. We all need one. So helping others has to be a part of the letting go. Letting go of our own selfish egos.

Thanks for the great post!

Giving ourselves the time and the freedom to enjoy ourselves and to pursue what truly brings us joy in life is the key to happiness.
In order for this to happen we must deliberately cut out the "noise". Being guilt ridden and guilt driven leads to a very unhappy life.
We already have too much responsibilities piled up on us- we don't need to create more or keep certain non essential things there.
Thanks so much for this,
Eren

Thanks for the wonderful tips. Here's a great quote about staying focused by Mozart: "The shorter way to do many things is to do only one thing at a time."
