Even those it's the most simple of the things listed above, I think a clean work space is by far the best way to go when ensuring a productive work environment. The more clutter, the more distractions.

Work is sometimes fun for some people. My mother for instance would rather be at work than on vacation or away from work. We all can spend time away from work if we really want, the trick is to love it when we are there.

These are all so true. I love numbers 1 and 5 most.

First, if our desk is not cluttered, we can work much better because we don't see mess in front of us, we don't misplaced important files or records because we're organized. A nice working environment stars at our desks.

Second, we shouldn't be worrying about how hard this project or work would be, instead we should think of ways on how and where to start and working on it. We must be inspired to make our work a job well done. There's no difficult work if we love our jobs and appreciate it.

Third, Reward Ourselves. We deserve that.

I would add to the list: If you feel ADD-tendencies oncoming or a general sense of burn-out, stop and take a short five or 10 minute break. Most work places permit and even encourage short breaks because they’ve been shown to help workers feel refreshed and therefore more productive.

It seems counter-intuitive, but if you take a quick break and get away from your desk, you’ll get more accomplished.

Cleaning up my desk in my (home) office really does make a difference in how much I get done. Unfortunately, when I had a day-job, some of the advice here would be difficult to execute.
