I agree wholeheartedly. How can you truly make a judgement when you have no idea where the path will lead?

The difficulty lies in sitting with something when it's not what you want to hear.

It takes practice (I'm still practicing!) but the reward is being a lot less frustrated with every turn your life takes.

Your quote from Hamlet is one of my favourites because it sums up so simply that thoughts are just thoughts and it's only the importance one places on a thought or one's reaction to it - be it that something's good or bad or a multitude of other things - that can keep us 'stuck' on a particular thought process or out-dated belief. I so agree that having thoughts without always becoming attached to them or making judgements about them can make people happier - and that doesn't mean sitting on the fence, but simply having more of a "you like apples and I like oranges, let's just agree to differ" attitude, which can be so much more liberating.

One can spend their life wondering what could have happened if they went lest instead of right at that fork in the road.
Less time pondering. Just think less!!

Leo, your post reminds me of a sports metaphor. A baseball player has a goal; to hit the ball out of the park. The universe is against him. Gravity wants to pull the ball down. The wind wants to take the ball in her direction. The pitcher is putting junk on the ball (spins, curves, etc.). Does the batter complain? No. He says, "Bring it on! Show me what you got." Some days the universe wins and he strikes out. Some days the batter wins and gets a hit. Either way, he will step up to the plate again, try again. Because it's fun. Is losing a job fun? Is the death of a close friend fun? I submit that even the meaningful things that go "wrong", can be fun. Sure these things hurt. But I don't have to be wounded by them. Finding the ways to make change is fun, is the meaning of life. The proof is for another post, but reality only exists in change; the contrast between "good" and "bad".
