I agree. I want to do less...have less yet be fulfilled and content in my scarcity of stuff. I am in perpetual decluttering of my home and my body...in and out.
One day I shall arrive...less and peacefully filled with joy. Thank you for reminding me.

Thanks for this post. I agree with you completely! I've not thought much about a minimalistic lifestyle but this is very thought provoking.

The minimalist approach also works wonders in other areas in life as well. For example, lots of entertainers have videos of their skits online that are over five minutes long. When viewing some of them, a lot of the footage is totally unnecessary. I've taken a lot of my older videos that were longer and cut out the unneeded parts, sometimes cutting as much as two minutes out of a four minute skit. My video ended up looking a LOT better!

Got to say the photo really grabbed my attention. Clean and "minimal." Perfect.

I have a lot to de-clutter, but looking forward to having more peace through having less stuff as I apply more and more minimalist principles. Keep the minimalist advice coming!

P.S. I'm trying to get my 17 year old daughter on the minimalist bandwagon. Maybe you could do a post that provides tips for high school or college kids. Starting young seems the way to go.

what if instead of over consuming we took the money we would have spent on over doing and donated it to a charity like Heifer International or a Food Bank- where would the world be then?
Imagine a world in which those who have too much were thinking about how they could make sure those who have too little have enough
Enough is a feast but you cannot ever get enough of what you don't really need.

This post is really timely. I have been actively reducing the number of tasks on my to-do list in the last week. Choosing the best in favor of the good can sometimes be painful...
