It all seems so simple reading it here. I'm wondering why the simple things are often the hardest. It's a matter of breaking some bad habits.

First thing I do when I do turn on my PC is open everything I'm going to be working on. At least 6 tabs / programmes. Then I move between them almost randomly. Hardly ever can I say 'done'.

So this post is very helpful ... and the first thing I did (and I I hope it's the start of a new habit) was close all my other tabs and switch to full screen so all I have is this comment box.

Yeah! DONE

Hate to spoil the fun Leo, but "One day to buy the domain, set up Wordpress, and find a theme to start from. Another day to tweak the theme to what I wanted and write a few posts. A third day to write more posts and announce it on Twitter and here on Zen Habits." could have been reduced to: half a day to buy the domain, sign up at Posterous.com and 2.5 days to write more posts :)

Don't know if you've come across Posterous - dead simple - as you said above, sometimes its the simple solutions that are better.

First time I've seen this blog -- great stuff!

Oddly enough, I blogged on a similar topic today: the importance of stillness. Pretty zen, right?

Sometimes, no matter how efficiently you work, it seems you just can't get it all done. Take a break, and when you get back to it with fresh legs, you'll do much better.
