This is a wonderful post! I totally agree with you: why start the drama when you can calmly deal with the situation? Life is already complicated enough for most people, why add the frustration and anger? In fact, your life would be much better off that way, gaining you more friends and acquaintances. Leo, you sure know how to live your life to the fullest! Keep up the good work man.

9 years ago, I arranged a client to be picked up for a day excursion around the island where I live by one of my driver. The driver did not pick him up, and I knew it from the client when I talked to him the next morning. I apologized to the client and said that I was truly sorry (I did not use this driver's service anymore).
My client just said, "No Drama, Putu." I still remember this words until now. I say this words every time my mind begin to dramatize things. Or I say it to my close friends when they feel frustrated about things. No drama, please.

"Annoyed by someone? Let it go. Focus on what you’re doing, right now. And just get on with it."

Thank you-- that's just what I needed to be reminded of.

Good post. I know, for myself, I grew up surrounded by heavy drama - alcoholism and the resulting misery. Learning to process emotions without increasing the drama - challenging, but doable. I recently experienced a number of events that at one time might have evoked major drama, including job loss. I was able to share my fears with friends, but STAY BUSY with looking for another job. For me the key is to face reality but do what I can. I love reminders to BREATHE and stay present. You rock!!!

PLEASE - for all the mothers out there - do not save it for your mother. She doesn't want to hear it, either.

Ah the good old drama. most if it is all in the mind any how. i think i'll have to send this on to my readers, and teach them to keep it simple when trying to stay fit.

Another strategy that can help stop the drama is to watch the words you use when talking about it. Often people use catastrophic language like; disaster, worst thing that could happen, devastated, horrible, etc. This language fits when describing a natural disaster but not so much when you're talking about the dent you just put in your car.

Thank you for this fantastic post. I will definitely be sharing this one with my clients, as I see so many of us creating our "stories" and adding unnecessary drama. We are each completely in charge of the stories we tell; why choose to go the route that gets everyone (including ourselves) all worked up? Appreciate you addressing thsis important issue!
