Post your January Challenge here! |
|
What's your challenge for January? Pick one habit to stick to for 30 days, and log in to report in the daily threads. This type of accountability will help you form you new habit.
Do the following:
1. Reply to this thread and post your challenge for January.
2. Make it a very accomplishable goal. Don't try to exercise every day for 1 hr. Try 5 or 10 minutes instead. Trust me, you'll be much more successful.
3. Those who post to the daily check-in threads every single day are much more successful. If you miss a day of reporting, you'll be fine, but the more consistent you are in reporting in, the better.
4. Keep a positive attitude! Expect setbacks now and then, but just note them and move on! No embarrassment in this challenge!
Good luck everyone!
Leo

Challenge goal: 3 MIT's a day and regular mealtimes |
|
Hi all,
Happy New Year!
I was pretty successful last month with two challenge goals - one personal and one professional - so I'm going to try it again this month. My professional challenge goal will be to list my 3 most important tasks for the next day each night and to knock them off first thing the next morning. My personal goal will be to eat 3 meals a day at regular times (I've got a bad habit of getting to meals too late and then overeating because I'm starved.)
I wish you all good luck as we kick off the first challenge of the new year.

keep bathroom clean and rehearse at least 1 choreo. daily |
|
I like the idea of one personal and one professional goal per month. Last month I was really successful with just one goal (minding my inboxes--they're all empty now and hopefully forever...) so I feel like two is reasonable. So here I go: Personal--keep the bathroom clean. Professional--Rehearse/work on at least one choroegraphy *everyday* (I'm a dancer).
Good luck everyone!

My challenge is to prepare for work the night before (includes picking clothes, any ironing, making lunch, getting any papers ready to take). I'm also putting my 8 yr old son on this challenge. I'm hoping to teach him something early that will benefit him. Good luck to all!

Hey everyone, I've only completed one goal--back in August. I didn't drink any type of soda that whole month, and haven't since.
I normally have to wake up at 5:30 every morning, and I don't have a problem with that. However, I need to become better with bed time. In January, I want to get to bed every night at the same time: 10:30. Doing this will mean that I will have to finish my homework earlier, etc. This large goal will help me with other things like homework and stuff.
So here goes. I'll keep reporting.

Eat at least two servings of fruits/vegetables lately. I've been getting away from that lately (whereas before, I used to eat five or six servings daily) which is terrible.

My first attempt at this, going to try to write at least a few sentences each day: whether it be about how the day went, something that was on my mind, or notes on something I heard/read.
The goal is to not only keep a record I can look back at, but also have somewhere to get things out of my mind, where I can make better sense of them and where they won't be so stressful.

My Challenges |
|
Professional: I like the idea of having the next day's work prepared the night before. So, my professional challenge is to spend the final 15-30 minutes every day clearing the decks for the next day. This includes emptying all inboxes and putting all items in the correct lists/contexts, determining the 3-5 top items to tackle first thing in the morning, and ensuring I review my schedule so I know where I need to be when and what I need to have with me.
Personal: I am trying to make more time for myself for creative pursuits. So, my personal challenge is to work each day on working through "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" to begin ramping up drawing and art. My personal goal for the year is to get back to drawing and learn watercolors so this is how I will start. In addition, I also want to write every day but do not want two challenges competing with each other so the challenge is to draw and finding time to write every day is gravy if I find it. One's required. The other is a bonus if I can fit it in.

I will get up from my computer at work and walk for ten minutes, at least twice each day! Since I've quit smoking, I have quit going outdoors so I just sit at my desk until I'm stiff and my back hurts when I get up to go to lunch or leave for the day.

When I get busy with school and other responsibilities I neglect to read. Well, more specifically, I forget to read for myself. So, for January, I aim to spend at least 30 minutes everyday reading something that I want to read-- not school related.

My Goal |
|
My goal for January is to wake up at 5:30 each morning and walk the dogs. My husband and I are new foster parents and we've let the dog walking slide. We have three dogs, but two of them are high-energy and need a long walk in the morning to stay calm during the day. I have a hard time walking our biggest dog because she pulls on the leash. Tomorrow I'm going to work on correcting her each time she pulls rather than letting her get away with it sometimes. So. That's my goal. Get up and walk the dogs (without getting my arm pulled off).

Excerside every single day |
|
My goal is to run a kilometre every single day in order to start preparing myself to train for a half marathon later this year. It's my first time ever doing such a thing, and I've never had an excersising habit, so I'm a little nervous. But a kilometer is only a 15 minute run, and I think I can manage that every day!

My goal is to work out at least 4 days a week. I have a very active vacation in late March that I need to be in shape for.
