Hi guys … as I mentioned before, I’m getting married in a couple of days, and then immediately leaving for my honeymoon in Thailand. I’m really looking forward to it, but I’m sad to say that I’ll be away from Zen Habits for a couple weeks (actually until after the first week of July).
However, I’m not leaving my faithful readers in the cold. Zen Habits will still be running, but writing from me will be a little less frequent — I’m going to ask for your help, the help of other bloggers, and your patience during my absence. I’ve got some good guest posts lined up, and have prepared some posts of my own. Read more »

I’m excited to tell you guys about my new venture: Web Warrior Tools, a site dedicated to publishing ridiculously useful ebook guides to anything you want to do, on the web or even off.

First Sprint Triathlon Completed! (Race Report)
I’m happy to report that I finished my first sprint triathlon this morning! I feel tired but really great. Here’s a report (was just posted on my training blog but thought you guys might be interested):
Background: I’m a runner but a complete novice in cycling and swimming (just started a month ago). So my goal for this first sprint tri was just to finish and have a good time. I wasn’t worried about my place or my time — I can work on improving later. Read more »

Zen Habits Update (with a Best of April 2008)
Hi guys … as you’ve noticed, I haven’t been posting as much in the last couple weeks. I will be posting a bit more this week but thought I’d update you on what’s been going on so you know I’m still alive. :)
First, I have been working hard on finishing my book … it’s going well, although slower than I’d anticipated, and I’m finishing it up this week and next. That’s been taking up a lot of my time, obviously, but I’m excited to have a completed book!
Second, I had a bit of a family medical situation. It’s nothing serious, but it did take away from my blogging time. It’s pretty much resolved now and everything is fine, so please don’t worry. Life throws little speed bumps in your way once in awhile. :)
Third, I’ve really increased my exercise recently and am training for a triathlon. I’ll post more about my training and progress very soon. But with increased training has come decreased time for everything else. Read more »

A number of you have asked about my home island, Guam — what it’s like, how a blogger like me emerged from a tiny island, stuff like that. So today I thought I’d share a little about Guam, just to give you some background on me and my home, and share a new resource for learning all about Guam.
My Home
While I was born in Portland, Oregon and have lived in Seattle and more recently in the SF Bay Area (Sunset District of SF and Vallejo), most of my life has been spent here on Guam. It’s a fairly small tropical island in the middle of the Pacific, a U.S. territory since 1898 (except during World War II, when it was occupied by Japanese forces), a very Catholic but very American island. Zen Habits spammed
Hey guys, just a short note and an apology to any blogs who’ve been spammed with Zen Habits (and other) links at the bottom of their html code. I didn’t do it, I promise. Somehow my WP install was exploited and some spammers got some files onto my server. It’s being fixed.
My apologies if your blog was spammed through Zen Habits. It really makes me wonder if these sites actually make more money from doing dumb things like this, and if they feel good about that. Money isn’t everything.

Best of Zen Habits: March 2008
Happy April Fools everyone! I’m an April Fool myself (I turn 35 at the end of the month), so you had better be nice to me this month. :)
March was another amazing month for Zen Habits, thanks again to my beautiful, wonderful, generous, and very sexy readers. We went from about 40,000 subscribers to nearly 50,000 today, so the Zen Habits family continues to grow. You helped me to do a lot of book writing, and to complete a marathon, with your encouragement and love.
For those who might have missed them, here are the best posts of March 2008: Read more »
