Beginner’s Guide to GTD

I get a lot of questions about GTD - what are the basic principles, how should one start. Well, the obvious answer is to start by getting the book. But I started without it, about a year ago, and I was able to get off the ground just with information on the web.
Well, I’m not going to explain the whole system in this post. Instead, I’ll provide some links to help you get started, if you’re a beginner GTD disciple.

Thank you SO much for this, and your other brilliant GTD posts. I have been getting into the groove of my own GTD implementation in fits & spurts for the last month or so. It’s finally coming together. Your site is officially the hub I launch from when exploring what others are up to in the ever expanding world of GTD tweaks & refinements. Please (!) keep up the fabulous work.

Thanks Travis! Congrats on getting GTD going … remember that it’s an ongoing process and you may slip up, but just get back on track.
See the “Ultimate GTD Index” listed in the sidebar (under Useful Blogs) … it has a lot more sites on GTD that are very helpful.
As someone new to GTD, let me just offer a friendly word of advice: you won’t get a lot done if you tweak with your system a lot or read about it more than you’re actually doing your next actions! We are all guilty of these two sins, so don’t feel bad if you are too.
Thanks for the nice comment!

given this is a beginner’s guide and I’ve clicked on a few similar articles to get here what is GTD? Good articles expand an acronym in the first usage.
