In Pursuit of a Deliciously Healthy Life

Recently I led a small retreat near the beach in Mexico, and it was beautiful. I had a day that felt so perfect, it made me realize it was a template for how I’d like to live my life.
Here were the elements of the perfect day in Mexico:
- Started the morning with yoga and meditation
- Bodysurfed in the ocean and had lots of physical activity
- Delicious healthy vegan food that was 80% fresh vegetables and fruits
- Deep connection with others that felt meaningful
- Work that lights me up
Of course, not every day is going to be able to be a day like that. I was on retreat! And there was a chef cooking us the most incredible meals. So not realistically replicable.
But it had me pondering (always a dangerous thing!) and I think I can do most of those elements on most days. Not all of them every day, but definitely most of them.
I can start with even a small amount of yoga and meditation, because I know that they nourish my spirit.
I can give myself plenty of physical activity and an almost all whole-foods diet, because I know they nourish my body.
I can do work that lights me up, and connect with others in a meaningful way, because I know this nourishes my heart.
I can weave these into my days, in a way that feels incredibly healthy to heart, body and spirit. Mexico may be miles away, but the imprint that day left on me is fully with me.
