Simplicity in Work
By Leo Babauta
When my work day starts to feel jumbled, I like to take a pause, and simplify.
I close or bookmark all the tabs in my browser — if the tab represents a task, I’ll add the task to my task list and bookmark the tab in an action folder in my bookmarks.
I close all open applications on my computer.
I put my phone on airplane mode and hide it away.
I clear open windows on my computer, and files on the computer desktop.
I clear my physical desk and work space.
I take a breath, and enjoy the simplicity that I’ve created.
Then I pick one thing from the list for the day. And work on it as simply as possible.
It’s a beautiful thing.
